British Open Golf

The British Open Golf is simply The Open Championship and is the oldest in the four Major championships .It is a professional golf which also held in the USA. The Open championship was first played on October 17 1860 at Prestwick Golf Club. The British Open Golf is usually played on the weekend of the third Friday in July. The Open has been founded in 1860 and located in United Kingdom. The Events held every year on one of nine historic links in Scotland or England also event held once in Northern Ireland.

In the Open’s Tournaments the trophy presented to the winners and it was the champion’s belt which was a red leather belt with a silver buckle. When the Champions belt was retired then it replaced the present trophy, The Golf Champion Trophy. The Open was dominated by golfers from the commonwealth in the early postwar years.

The Open became the part of the PGA tours and the prize money won in the Open by PGA tour member also included on the official money. The best champion of the Open’s tournament was Watson who has won five Opens. The field for the Open is 156, and golfers may gain a place in three ways.
