Hall of Fame Tennis Championships

The Hall of Fame Championship which also known as Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships  is an international tennis tournament which has been held in July at the international Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island United States. The tournament has started in 1976. The features of the tournament are has 32 players single draw ad a doubles tournament. The sponsor of the tournament is Campbell’s.

Every year when the tournament was held there is an induction ceremony for the Hall of Fame. The top seed has never won at Newport, the trait has led to the moniker “the casino curse because of the location of the Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino. The prize money which has given to the tournament winners is $500,000. The tournament was held on grass court which is the last grass court tournament of the season on ATP tour.

In the year of 2008 the top two seeds were Mardy Fish and Fabrice Santoro who going to the tournament who had the world rankings of 41 and 57. The past season 2009 winner in Singles was Rajeev Ram and in the Double the past winner was Jordan Kerr and Rajeev Ram. The 2010 Hall of Fame Tennis Championship will be held on July 15th at the location of Newport Casino International Tennis hall of Fame Newport, RI.
